| What
is the BS 8404 standard? |
BS 8404 is the standard to which a blister pack will be tested,
and if found compliant, will denote that it is proven to be child
resistant whilst remaining senior-friendly.
| |
What is the EN14375 Standard?
This is the standard that has now been introduced throughout
Europe and supercedes BS 8404.
| |
Will we have to test our blister packs?
Type testing is available to enable licenses to be easily amended, avoiding
exposing large numbers of children to the testing process. This
reduces the time frames and costs for the whole market covered
under the CRSF legislation. However, the license holder
must always keep in mind that it is their responsibility to ensure
that, if tested in their format, the product passes. The penalties
for failure can be harsh.
| |
Will we have to change our licenses to accommodate Pill
Protect™?
Yes all licenses will have to be varied, but if Pill protect™ is
used, it will be a simple variation. Our product means that there
is no change to any of the surfaces in contact with the drug.
| |
How do I get Pill Protect™ integrated into my
manufacturing process?
Our team have worked with all key blister-pack machine manufacturers
and have integration options available for the majority of production
facilities. We will be pleased to carry out a free, no
obligation site visit to establish the suitability of Pill Protect
for any existing machine.
| |
Will adding Pill Protect™ to our process slow
our production?
Pill Protect™ has been specifically designed with production
in mind. Application is in-line after the blister pack has been
sealed, but prior to the blister die cut process, so maintaining
existing line speeds, with no need for an extended sealing process.
| |
Can we use Pill Protect™ to incorporate our branding
message?
Due to the uniquely smooth paper surface of Pill Protect™,
marketing and brand presentation capabilities are far superior
to the traditional foil finish of a standard blister pack. The
branding and consultancy team at Pill Protect™ can assist
with any artwork process.
| |
What time frames do I need to allow?
Integrating an application system for Pill Protect™ has
on average, taken between 4 – 8 weeks from start to finish,
however the machine down-time is minimal. During this period
the Pill Protect™ product can be branded and samples manufactured
for your approval, all this covered by your own dedicated Pill
Protect™ project manager.
| |
How much will Pill Protect cost?
The costs vary from one blister design to another, but we will
always aim to keep our prices to a minimum and will be happy
to work with any client or potential client to achieve the best
product, at a reasonable price.
